So far, it works well.
This is the review for the Teslong articulating boriscope. It has a built-in rechargeable battery that is 3000 mAh, The boroscope cable itself is 5 ft long, and you’re able to articulate the camera from one side to the other, but it doesn’t have a 360 rotation. The camera will basically point back on itself. It has a 5-in display, and it also has an app that you can use to connect the display to your phone or tablet. It has an 32 GB SD card which is included, it also comes with the charging cable which is USBA to USBC, and it also comes in a soft case. If there’s any negative to it, it’s the image on the screen. I have another boriscope that was around 50 bucks, but it’s not articulating. And the image on both displays is really close to the same. I thought for this price point the image would look a little better than what it does. It’s not a bad image, I just thought it would be a little more clear. You are able to take pictures of what you’re looking at, it could store to your SD card. And the light at the end has three brightness levels. After I downloaded the app it did take a few tries to get it to connect. It connects through Wi-Fi. There is a dial that you use to articulate the camera, and it does take a little more force than what you would think to articulate it all the way. That’s not a bad thing, I just thought it would be a little easier. But so far it works well, and I actually look forward to having to use it more. I’ve been running around the house trying to find stuff to look at. It’s basically a toy for growing ups.

*UPDATED* Teslong reached out and bypassed Amazon with some pretty incredible customer service. Buy with confidence I now have experience with the product (4 in our shop) and their service and am more confident in recommending these as the best value and quality for technicians. The guys in the shop that spent over $1000 for the 1.5″ screens and grainy low resolution Snapon branded cameras they bought, all kick themselves when they see these cameras. Though different having it come to your house, it is not more difficult than meeting the Snapon truck and waiting for return or getting denied return because it’s electronic as I have seen in the past (Dealers vary though so your experience is very dependent on your dealer). Anyway I just want to update and say that Amazon system while usually adequate can break down and fail you but, in this case Teslong steps in and upholds a high level of customer service.************************************************************There are several mechanics at our shop that have these camera. Generally I like them. I bought one so I didn’t have to borrow theirs anymore. The one I got however is really stiff and hard to articulate. Since I have a couple to compare mine to, I can tell mine has something wrong. I thought it would loosen up after some use but I have had it out on a few occasions this month and another mechanic used it and agrees it is too stiff and something is wrong with it. It seems to bind internally and it becomes a 4 handed operation to hold the length of the scope straight so there are no bends in it for the articulation to be possible.I tried to exchange it but, there is no option for exchange. I spoke with Amazon support and they confirmed the only option is return/refund. I didn’t want to return the item, I simply wanted an exchange for a properly functioning one. I bought this during black friday or boxing day I cant remember which but regardless, I took advantage of the sale price.Now if I want to get a replacement I have to buy one at the current price and I can send mine back and get a refund of what I paid. So no real customer service available, its just Amazon refund service. I have initiated a return, though I am uncertain if I will rebuy or not. When little things like this happen and there is no simple route to correct it, I am driven to look at something else. In the hope that companies will change their procedure and do better in future.

This review evaluates the “TD500 Articulating Borescope” made by TESLONG.The product was shipped with no excessive or wasteful packaging and all components were contained snugly in a form-fitted zippered case. What’s in the box: one (1 Articulating Borescope, one (1) AC charging power block, one (1) USB-CX to USB-A data cable, one (1) removable 32GB micro-SD card (installed in the unit), one (1) cleaning wipe sachet, and an owner’s manual.First impressions: Wow, I’m thoroughly impressed. Upon opening the box I immediately saw that it came in a nice, semi-rigid form-fitted case! I will say that this impressed me right off the jump. My biggest pet peeve is getting a tool kit that has multiple pieces and it is sold with either no case or a flimsy one. I hate trying to adapt some toolbox or Tupperware to suit my needs. I WILL ALWAYS PAY EXTRA FOR SUCH A CASE! It is so nice to pull out a complete kit to “go into battle” and get a breakdown fixed.This diagnostic unit is commercial/industrial grade; well-built with both a large 5″ IPS LCD screen and the ability to stream video (record/take pictures) from a smartphone or tablet via WiFi and an APP. Right out of the box, the unit feels quality-made, indicative of a professional tool. The unit is powered by a rechargeable 3,000mAh lithium polymer battery via a 5V/1.2A or greater USB charging block (not included). The charging port and micro-SD port are located on the left-hand side of the screen bezel covered by a rubber grommet. The borescope is comprised of IP67 water resistant five (5) foot long, fiber optic armored cable with a 0.15” diameter articulating 6-LED illuminated camera head. This borescope head can be submerged in liquids (less than 70C/158F) up to five (5) feet and has adjustable brightness and the ability to articulate approximately 270 degrees. The ability to articulate the camera head is controlled by a central pivot wheel by scrolling your thumb up or down; the feel is very controlled and allows you to accurately pinpoint what you wish to look at. Your ability to record video/take pictures and control the light function is handled by two buttons located immediately adjacent to the right of your thumb wheel. The overall settings and ON/OFF buttons are controlled by several buttons below your 5” screen. The configuration/layout of this unit is very intuitive and not overly complicated.Although this borescope can be used as a fully standalone unit, it does have the capability of streaming to multiple people via an onboard WiFi module. Each person must download the “SMART ENDOSCOPE” APP (free download with the ability to disable adware by entering the data from a QR code included with the unit). You do have to sign up for an account with your email (free) and choose your own password. After the APP is downloaded and you set up your account, you must turn on WiFi in the settings of the borescope unit (note it doesn’t save this setting once you turn the unit off, perhaps for security reasons, so you must enable it each time you want to use this feature) and join its own WiFi SSID. Once joined other people can simultaneously view and record imagery via a tablet or a smartphone.Although I can’t imagine anyone wanting to do so with this device (mind you there are a lot of people that “march to their own drummer”): there is a warning on it that it is not designed for medical use… So if you are THAT type of person who lacks ALL sensibility and has a mind that CANNOT overrule your desire to perform stupid ideas; DO NOT use this device to try and perform your own DIY colonoscopy! LOL!I am evaluating this product as part of the Amazon Vine program so I am limited to a 30-day window to submit a review. To verify the durability of this product, I am going to monitor this product and its performance over the next 8-12 months of use and revise my review should problems arise.Cost-effectiveness and value: Overall I am extremely satisfied with the product; it is very well-made, comprehensive, and very easy to use. It has 1,001 uses and is an excellent addition for either a tradesman or a homeowner. At a current price of $499.99 plus a $100 off coupon, I feel that this product is very competitively priced for the quality and advanced functionality delivered.In summary: the “TD500 Articulating Borescope” made by TESLONG is very well-made and delivers excellent results at a price that doesn’t break the bank.
