After 3+ weeks I couldn’t be happier with this charger.
I waited 3 weeks to write this just so I could give a real world review and not just an unboxing/setup review.I’m happy to say after 3+ weeks of use not only was it a breeze to setup and install (literally completed in under 10 minutes), but it has worked flawlessly. We’ve had rain, snow, sub, and even sub-zero temps and through it all it’s given me zero issues. I’d 100% buy another one.I like the never rigid cable, the solid Ev plug, the safety baked in everywhere. The temp sensors in both the connector and wall plug is really nice to ease my mind as a first time EV owner. So needless to say at this point, but I’m very happy with it.

Great charger, Easy to install, app setup was flawless with great features.
So happy that I bought this charger. It was really easy to install and all hardware was provided. I did a self install to a pre existing NEMA 14-50 plug, installed by electrician. The app was easy to use and setup, under 2 minutes to get connected, The built-in temperature sensor in the plug and in the connector give a great piece of mind. It has the safety features I was looking for with a Nema 1450 plug-in charger. So glad I purchased this charger and looking forward to many years of usage. I bought the one that can be converted to hardwire if needed in the future, so far the plugin version meets my needs and speeds are as expected, good piece of mind knowing I can convert it to hard wire for faster charging if needed. Nice future proof feature.

Extremely expensive set up if you want to make everything work
The product description is clearly misleading. The setup process is a complete nightmare. This charger is marketed as a 48 amp plug-in unit, but even with a 50 amp circuit breaker, it only delivers 40 amps. If you actually want to get the full 48 amps, you’re forced to hardwire it — yet no hardwiring hardware is included in the box, which is absurd as there’s the hardwire unit available with a whip.The configuration experience is just as bad. Pairing the device with the app is unnecessarily complicated, and the Wi-Fi connectivity is extremely unreliable. Be prepared to buy a Wi-Fi extender, even though every other device in my garage connects without any issues. To make matters worse, it only supports a 2.4 GHz network, which feels outdated and limiting.Load balancing and power sharing aren’t available out of the box either — you have to purchase additional hardware just to unlock these basic features.In the end, getting this charger to work properly turns into an expensive and frustrating process. You’ll likely need to buy a new outlet, pay a licensed installer, buy a Wi-Fi extender, and extra metering hardware just to achieve the functionality that should have been included from the start. Also, be careful with your utility’s criteria for rebates. This unit didn’t qualify for my utility program, so no rebate.Finally, plugging the connector into the built-in holder is another challenge. The design is impractical if your parking space is away from the charger.

Solid and reliable
I’d been seeing this IYILO pop up all over the place, and after my old charger died in under a year, I figured I’d give this one a shot. Honestly, it’s been great so far. Charging is fast, everything feels solid, and I really like being able to check the plug temperature in real time — that gives me a lot more peace of mind. I’m planning to switch to a hardwired setup down the road for extra safety, but for now, I’m really happy with it.

Fantastic charger. Having cycled through a few quality issues from other chargers (get way too hot, cheap cord and plugs), this nailed it.. surge protection is great (to protect your vehicle and home). Easy to set up. The cord and socket is the best in the industry. Extremely durable, looks great, functions exactly right. Get this charger if unsure and you won’t look back.

I have had 6 EVs and 4 wall chargers so far, and this one is definitely the best. The app especially is full of useful features, like the wall outlet and plug temperature display. The cord is very light and easy to handle.Plus, for the price you can’t go wrong. Great buy.
