  1. Self Reliant!

    Work as advertised.
I’m female and wear a size 9 1/2 or 10 shoe. I bought these socks in blue medium for a trip to Patagonia where I would be hiking in wet conditions and getting in an out of zodiacs. Since I read reviews that said that the socks don’t have a lot of give, I bought a little bigger size than recommended. Tight socks give me toe cramps. These had enough extra toe room to make them very comfortable wearing throughout the day….but not bulky. I tested them before I wore them by putting my hand inside and running cold water over the socks…. felt the cold but no wetness. They worked great on the trip and my feet did not get wet. Put them in the washing machine on cold when I got home…. let them air dry. No shrinkage. I put my hand inside and ran cold water over them again and same results…. no wetness. Sooooooo….. highly recommend!!

    Very comfortable socks
Bought these to wear in Florida for the colder weather they had been having. Very comfortable to wear. They are not completely waterproof but they will keep a nice barrier between the chill from the water and your water shoes. Would buy again.

    Socks review
Bought these for a wet walk in the Everglades. They had some water that leaked in but they may not have been tight enough or right size. I was also mostly in the water. Still though no mud particles got through during the walk which was nice. They were also pretty comfy.

If you’re a runner, try these out!
I was worried these XS socks would be too big, but they are just small enough. If they were any bigger they would be too big. (In regular shoes, I’m size 6, running shoes or boots I’m size 7, sometimes in dress shoes I’ll be as low as 5.5. If your feet are smaller than mine, I’d recommend going down to the children’s version that this company sells.) I have always lived places where it either does not rain much or doesn’t rain hard, so I’ve never thought it was a big deal to just run with regular gear and maybe throw a rain shell over top. Every once in along while there would be a big storm and I’d get soaked to the bone, but no big deal. However, now I’m somewhere where when it rains it really rains and if I run in the rain, I’m going to get soaked. So, I’ve done that a bunch of times this year and done with it. I can’t wait to try these out on a run. Just testing them out so far, I can tell they won’t breathe well, but if they did, I’d be worried about their rainproof-ness LOL. If I have a choice between hot feet or soaked and freezing feet, I’d take the former. I’m a trail runner, so can’t wait to go splashing through puddles! If the socks do not live up to my expectations, I’ll update the review. By the way, I’m very picky with sock seams and not getting blisters, especially when it comes to running, and I think these seem like they’re going to be comfortable in that way. They are more bulky than my regular running socks, but I wear the ultrathin socks without padded toes or heels. I would say that the thickness is on par or thinner than the running socks I’ve tried on that have are padded. I tried these on with my running shoes and the shoes are more snug, but not to the point of needing to go up to the next shoe size or squishing my toes or feet. I chose these socks over a shorter pair of waterproof socks (both brands recommended by a runners world article) just because the shorter ones will not stop rain from going down inside the sock. These are waterproof and snug over the ankle, so I’m confident they will be great. I also love the bright yellow color for street running to make me more visible. Sorry for the ramble – I’m just really excited to try these out and wanted to make sure I addressed all of the comments other people have made and the questions I had before i bought them 🙂

Great socks for winter trail running – Minnesota winter approved!
I dont write a lot of reviews but wanted to give credit here. I’m in Minnesota and didn’t want to buy new Gore-Tex shoes, so I decided to keep the non-GTX SpeedGoats I’ve been trail running in all summer and just try buying these socks instead.Over the weekend, I went snowshoe running and the temps were 0-2f, with wind-chills even lower. It was seriously cold. My eyelashes and beard went full on icy. I brought toe warmers but didn’t even use them. My feet were completely dry and warm the entire time I was out. I didn’t even double up socks or anything – just these and then my running shoes, for an hour, snowshoe running on powdery trails. Snow was buried in my shoes but these socks really pulled their weight and I plan to continue using them all winter. If they wear out, which i dont see happening given the “feel” of their quality, I can buy several more pairs and still have it be cheaper than buying new gtx shoes.I dont know if they would be great ice fishing or anything where your not staying active (maybe they would, I just haven’t tested it), but so long as your working, I can vouch for their warmth. They are every bit as warm as heavy wool socks.
