Great for early writers!
I bought these primary writing journals for my first graders, and they’re perfect. The lines are just the right size for little hands learning how to write, and I love that there’s space at the top for drawing pictures. It really helps the kids get creative and connect their writing to their illustrations.The paper is thick enough that pencils and crayons don’t bleed through, and the covers hold up well even with daily use. My students get so excited to use them, and it’s been a great way to track their progress over the year.I’ll definitely be reordering these—they make writing practice so much more fun!

Higher price than others is worth it
I’ve purchased these for several years for my first grade student journals. The lines are perfect for focus on letter formation, they are very sturdy with bindings that can take a beating. The space at the top is the right size for beginner authors and illustrators. My only complaint is the price, but I believe it’s a case of “you get what you pay for”.

Best for the price, for sure!
Amazon is my go-to for last minute everything. When one of our teachers decided, 3 days before school started, that she preferred “primary” composition books/journals, I popped over, hoping I could find a seller that had both a good price per book and could still get them to me before school started. These notebooks fit the bill. They’re very good quality, particularly for the price (about $2 each when I purchased) and arrived quickly. The covers and paper aren’t quite as thick as the name brand journals but they’re plenty sturdy and, as it turned out, are the brand our teacher uses herself. These also have 100 pages inside, where others only have 80. I don’t know that my child will use all 100 sheets but I feel that it adds to the value. Each page, both front and back, has a space at the top for a drawing, graph, whatever, which is perfect for Pre-K – 2nd grade kids, where most of their assignments tend to ask for a picture to go with their work. I’m clearly pleased with my purchase and recommend them to anyone who is looking for primary composition books/journals.

The come to a little over $2 for each book which is a great deal. I would like ifnthe pages were a little thicker but I guess that is why they are this price. Also, I would make the lines a little wider for learners doing lower-case letters, it’s quite small.Otherwise, they are great. The drawing space helps so we can remember what was written about and makes the writing more fun.Thank you!
