The goals are well made and well designed. The frame reminds me of the supports for a pop-up tent because the poles for these goals are also hollow fibreglass with an elastic that goes through them to connect them. The result is a strong, lightweight, and easy-to-assemble frame. The coloured portions of the frame are made of heavy-duty nylon. They are made like sleeves to slide over the frame. Those portions of the net are highly durable and will last forever. The mesh on the net is the Achilles’ heel of this goal, though. It is made of a synthetic fibre that can get snagged/abraded on almost anything. Velcro and burrs are especially troublesome. Replacement nets should be offered for sale separately.Once assembled for the first time, each goal packs down into its custom triangular bag with just a twist. To set it up subsequent times, just remove a goal from the bag, give it a twist, and stake it down with the included pins. By the way, if your soil is too sandy for the pins provided, either use stakes from your tent or get some ‘landscape staples’, which is what these stakes are anyway. Landscape stables come in 4”, 6” and 8” lengths. Don’t get the 4” ones.Just like anything else you buy with poor assembly instructions, find a video of someone setting twisting the goal into a 2 dimensional shape. If you don’t use the net often, mark the corners that get twisted so you won’t have to figure it out again.These goals are easy to store and to transport because they are so light and compact. They can shrink down a soccer field to backyard size but they are also excellent for playing soccer indoors in a gym, in a park, at a school yard, or on the beach.There is also a 20‘ agility ladder which is of excellent quality. The rungs are adjustable so it is just as suitable for adults as it is for kids. I have seen identical ones sell on Amazon and according to my calculations of the average price for one of these is $31. finally, the snow has melted in our backyard and although it is still officially winter, the outside temperatures have been good enough for the kids to go outdoors and get some sun. so out came this outdoor soccer set along with them. i had ordered it a couple of weeks back but only now had the chance to actually put it to use/test. dad’s feedback: it appears to be a pretty good value deal, as it comes with two sets of goal posts/nets, 6 soccer cones, an agility ladder, stakes and pegs, and an inflatable soccer ball with the pump. so pretty much all they’ll need for soccer training and games to keep them busy and active, and in prepping for the actual soccer season and soccer camp. setting up was easy even without instructions. the ball is not standard but works well for backyard purposes. an official ball would be too heavy and could damage the posts with overly vigorous kids. the size of the nets are just right for our yard, and we had fun playing two on two games. it all comes in a carrying bag for easy transport to the park or when camping. this set will definitely get a lot of use, so i am hoping it holds up well over time and against the elements since i place to leave it outdoors even when it rains so that they are always set-up and ready for when the kids feel like going out there to kick some balls. i don’t want to have to set it up every time they want to use it, so i hope they are built to withstand the regular weather in calgary. i would of course store it for winter, but right now, the weather seems good enough to leave it out. the materials do look to be of good quality on first inspection. but you never know with most of these things that are mass produced. kids’ feedback: it was an awesome set. so i guess that is all the opinion that really matters.

If you don’t use the net often, mark the corners that get twisted so you won’t have to figure it out again.The goals, the soccer ball and the pump are already what I consider to be excellent value for $63. But that’s not everything! There is some great training gear in the form of 6 soccer cones and a 20’ agility ladder. The agility ladder is a real find because it’s so ruggedly made that it will last for decades and being adjustable, it will work just as well for kids as it will for adults.Purchased individually, an agility ladder just like the one that comes with this set will cost $20-$25 or more.These goals are designed for soccer but why not let younger kids make up their own games and ways to use this? Just divide up any number of kids or toddlers into two teams, put all the kids between the goals with a lot of balls of any kind, and tell the kids to get the balls into the nets with their teams.Take an old bedsheet or two, throw them over the goals. and make it into a shady place to play outside. Have a water fight and let each team have a goal with a sheet draped over it for cover. Build a fort.

Knowing how much enjoyment our grandkids have gotten out of similar goal sets, my wife and I decided that we should keep a set at our home for when everyone visits. Our backyard is large enough to accommodate a half dozen kids playing a mini soccer game while our cement patio has room for almost as many playing ball hockey. These sets are just the right size for either activity.These instant pop-up nets employ the break apart poles so common in tents these days. Unlike tents, however, these nets don’t have to be disassembled once they’ve been put together; they conveniently fold into flat, compact units which can easily be tucked away. Putting them up or folding them down takes a matter of seconds. Small stakes are provided to hold the lightweight units in place so that they don’t flip over when someone runs into them or they are hit by a ball. They’re space efficient, highly portable, and are the perfect size for playing a game in the backyard or at the playground where space can be limited.The nets do require assembly before their first use. No tools are required but a fair bit of space is needed. Each of the nets requires two fibreglass poles to be inserted through fabric sleeves that run around their outside edges on three sides. With each sleeve having two 90° bends, this can be a bit tricky; the poles will occasionally separate inside the sleeves but can usually be put back together without removing them from where they are. After both poles are threaded through the sleeves, one side of the net is lifted so that it is sitting in its normal upright position. The two 90° joints which join the poles are then inserted into the corner pieces (which are attached to each other with a piece of nylon strapping). I would suggest getting a bit of help with this as the poles must be bent slightly to be properly inserted; this is not something that children would be able to accomplish on their own. Working alone, it took me roughly twenty minutes to set up both nets. For storage, the nets are now able to be folded (corner to corner, then folded in half).In addition to the nets and stakes, the set comes with ten yellow safety cones which can be used for drills or for marking the field, a regulation size three soccer ball, a hand pump with a couple of ball needles, and a agility ladder for training purposes. The ball is quite heavy and probably the maximum size that I would use with the set; for younger children I would likely use an even lighter ball. The pump is small but easy to use, it worked perfectly for inflating the ball included with the set.The lightweight construction of the nets can cause a few issues; contact with the ball or a player will usually cause it to briefly bend out of shape. Don’t expect a ball to hit the goalpost and ricochet in, it will push the post out of the way and continue on its allotted path. While this can be frustrating, it also makes the nets very safe; colliding with them is unlikely to cause any injury.The agility ladder is a nice addition to the set. Ten feet in length and sixteen inches wide, it features adjustable rungs to accommodate players of different ages and sizes. There are loops at the ends of the ladder allowing it to be secured to the ground with the stakes provided.If I have a single complaint with this package, it involves the bag included with the set. Rather than include a large, flat bag which can accommodate the net in its folded position, this bag is essentially a small duffel bag; to carry the net, it is necessary to disassemble it completely, something which, to me, defeats the purpose of the product.With the exception of the bag, we are very pleased with this set. Everything is ideal for active play, whether it be soccer or ball hockey, in a limited area. The flexibility of the nets allows them to absorb a fair bit of abuse and be none the worse for wear. The fact that they fold up so nicely and are extremely portable makes them perfect for taking with you on picnics or camping trips. While the set’s current price of $66 CAD might seem pricey, given the quality of the components, I feel it’s justified. Recommended
