Great product keep it up Spalding
First thing to know is that the 2 delivery people did an EXCELLENT job handling it and placing it on our front porch. It’s bulky and heavy and they gently placed it down to not cause any damage, so they should be mentioned and praised for doing a great job. Secondly, all parts were in box which made setup extremely easy. The basketball system setup itself was so simple and my husband and 2 children had it up and ready to play in about 30 min as stated. We all go out and play together and have been since its setup. The Spalding company nailed this one. The quality and stability with the acrylic backboard makes this suitable for kids. The backboard has a perfect solid sound and bounce back. I’m sure this system will last for years and when it does come time for a replacement, it will be @spalding that gets our business. Very happy with it so far.

Goal great, instructions are sub-standard.
Product is built well, easy to assemble and fun.The instructions leave a lot to be desired. Be sure to leave a lot of space around the goal when assembling. Don’t assemble near a wall or building. Be careful how much water you initially put in as it holds 300 lbs and I found out the hard way that leverage only gets you so far. After placement then fill all the way up.Stability is good and height adjustment is easy.Instructions are poor and there is no way to drain the water so you can siphon or you can use one of the small vertical pumps sold on Amazon (battery operated portable pumps) approximately $18.

Good but not perfect
After a nightmare with another “traditional” Spalding hoop — which proved impossible to assemble due to manufacturing defects in the main pole — the Momentous EZ assembly looked appealing as you don’t have to fit the sections of the pole together (which is the hardest part of assembling the traditional portable hoop).Well, Spalding has done a nice job on the design as it was fairly easy to assemble, and while not 30 minutes, it was probably 90 mins or so working at a relaxed pace.So we’ve had it now for about 18 months and can say we’re pretty happy. It’s sturdy and has good feel. Doesn’t vibrate much when the ball hits the backboard or rim. Growing up, we had a fixed hoop and I was a bit skeptical about this sort of portable hoop, but can say I am quite pleased.However, I have to point out that this isn’t perfect. Unfortunately, with our piece, when you swing the pole up and lock it into place with the pin, it doesn’t stand perfectly straight. It is off by some number of degrees, such that the hoop then isn’t perfectly level. I have inserted some wood board pieces below the back of the base to make it level, but obviously this is disappointing. I’ve read a lot of the other reviews here but don’t recall anyone else stating this, so appears to be an issue unique to us.

Not 30 minutes, but definitely easy.
I bought this as a replacement for another Spalding hoop that was a multi-hour setup and breakdown. The setup on this is absolutely genius! The instructions were laid out very well, both via the video and printed booklet. I am a small (5’1”, 120lbs) but strong lady and I was able to completely unbox and begin the setup solo. There are definitely multiple steps that require 2 people – attaching the backboard and rim, and then raising the backboard and pole into the upright position and securing it. My 80yo 5’9” and in-shape father and I completed it without much difficulty (although a little more height on either one of us would have been helpful). In total it took about an hour, including unboxing, reviewing the video and written instructions, and then actually assembling the unit. All parts were packaged and labeled according to the associated step in the build. Nuts and screws threaded easily.This is a very sturdy unit with a large base and a pole/hoop that are situated more towards the center of the base. I filled the base with water and added 100lbs of sand on the rear of the base as extra precaution since it is on an ever-so-slight downhill slope. The raising and lower mechanism is so smooth my 11yo can do it with ease. My son loves the sound of the backboard, saying it doesn’t sound like the “cheap hoops some other kids have” 😆It’s more pricey than some other hoops, but in my opinion. the ease of assembly and overall sturdiness make the higher price worth it!

So going into this purchase, durability was my #1 concern.This one delivers.The base is incredibly solid — once you fill it with water, it feels locked in. No wobbling, no worrying every time the weather picks up. It actually gives you confidence that it’s built to last.And the assembly? Legit as advertised. Took a little longer than thirty minutes cause I wasn’t really focusing, but no frustration, no complicated setup — just straightforward and efficient.✔️ Super sturdy base (huge upgrade from typical hoops)✔️ Handles wind WAY better than cheaper goals✔️ Quick and easy assembly✔️ Adjustable height for all skill levels✔️ Feels like quality every time you playIf you’ve ever had a hoop get wrecked by the wind like I did, you’ll appreciate this one immediately.A caveat is you will need quite a bit of strength to move it if it is filled with water or sand.

Front bracket weak!
Front bracket broke when somebody fell into it. Spalding said it wasn’t covered of course and the replacement parts cost as much as buying a new system. The base also made out of a weak plastic that leaked a couple of weeks after I received it. Used a plastic sealer to take care of the leak. To think I waited so long for this hoop. It was easy to put together but i would stay away from this flimsy product. Spalding customer service is the absolute worst.
