IAMS has been making pet food for over 80 years, so it is a familiar brand. I have used it for years for my cats, but I have never tried it for my dogs. I now have two young golden retrievers who are picky eaters, so I thought I would give this food a try.AT 30 lbs, this bag is a good size and a great value for the price. With two 75 lb dogs to feed, I have to get a good value for my money. I also add homecooked food to each meal, which I like to do to give them more variety, and to round out their nutritional needs.I like that the Proactive Health High Protein food follows AAFCO guidelines and is free from fillers and artificial flavorings. I like to feed my dogs food that is it the highest protein possible, and at 32%, that is a great choice.The minute the bag arrived, my dogs were swarming the box to see what was inside. They absolutely loved the smell of the food and couldn’t wait to eat some. I always introduce any new food into their diet very slowly, and over the course of 2-3 weeks. The kibble is a nice size for my large dogs, and they both seem to like the flavor.I love that chicken is the first ingredient, and I like that it contains glucosamine and chondroitin for healthy bones and joints. It also contains omegas for healthy skin and coat, and L-Carnitine for lean muscle. All good things for these very active boys.My dogs love chicken and beef, but they also really enjoy veggies in their food. So, I wish there was more of a variety of vegetables in this recipe. Otherwise, it looks well balanced.

Made my dogs sick
The first day my dogs reluctantly ate the food. Second and third day, the bowls were mostly full which is very odd. The fourth day, the dogs were sick and throwing up in the yard. Both dogs became very lethargic, even my 1 year old golden retriever. Suspecting it was the food, I threw it away and filled their bowls with a different brand. They are now eating again and slowly returning to their former selves. Scary what this food did to them. Never again

My Picky Rescue Dog Approves!
I have a 6 year old rescue mix who is a VERY picky eater, but prefers high protein foods most of the time.I have been feeding her this IAMS mix for almost a week now and she tears through it! This makes me very happy to see as she normally picks at her food and refuses to eat certain flavors. I can tell she likes the taste and she gets very excited whenever I refill her bowl throughout the day.My rescue has had digestive issues on and off in prior years, so I kept an eye on her after we switched to this food. She did get a little gassy after the first day or two, but that has gone away as she has adjusted to it.Overall, this seems to be a good quality kibble that provides her with a healthy high-protein meal she really seems to like!

They love it..
My dogs love it. The quality is great it’s highly digestible. When it comes to value for money it’s $50 for 30lb all kibble is pretty expensive these days it doesn’t last too long but I have Cane Corsos so they are pretty big dogs and very picky. They won’t eat other types of food but they do eat this and they love it. So I think if they sold it in larger quantities for extra large dogs it would be a little bit better but as far as the dog’s opinion they eat it. And that’s great cuz they are picky! They will not eat certain brands of kibble. Added a pic of one of my dogs for size idea

Stay away made my dog extremely sick!! Changed the food and got better. Absolutely horrible!!
