Very kid friendly
Fabulous material. We found many things to do with the waxed string
Katy Mataska –
Fun craft!
This was so fun to do with my kids! Will buy again!

A fun activity, but the wax is a bit sticky
My son only got into two sets before he was over it. I also didn’t realize that these strands of wax were not cuttable by hand (we tried) – I guess there may be an actual string in the middle. These wax pieces were also way stickier than I imagined to be, they seemed to annoy me more than my five year old son. He only did the palm tree and stuck it to the door and started on the rainbow and ultimately said “all done” and packed it away.Albeit a fun activity it didn’t last for much of an activity for my kiddo, if we could have been able to break them apart into strands without scissors it would have been better, as my kid had issues trying to imagine how to point the ends out vs the fold side to make it look like half pieces. They wax was so sticky and barely came out of their bag I couldn’t even get them back into their storage bag so now they’re just loose in the box. We will see if they dry out by the time he has interest again. The only benefit to the sticky wax was the palm tree he put on the sliding door is still there, haha.

Cute activity
This activity was cute with our toddlers, the little princess pictures were fun prompts for them and the wax was easy to maneuver for their little hands. They loved it, and I was overall pleased with the activity for a rainy day.

Fun craft entertained the kids for a bit.
Fun craft for kids my son loves these wax sticks in general so this was a fun creative way to use these to make animals. They stick well to the paper animal pieces and it comes with foam to work on which I appreciate so it doesn’t get all over things. Good value for your money as this entertained my kids for a bit. It comes with lots of animal options and colors choices too. The wax strips are thin and easy to bend and work with. I do suggest scissors to cut it into smaller pieces. And they stick on the window after which my kids thought were fun.

Not great
Wasn’t super impressed with this. Definitely a one time use product, which I was disappointed about. It seems like a lot of wax sticks, but it’s not enough for more than 2 people to play with at a time. Wax got soooo sticky and was coming off on hands. They got dirty and we ended up getting rid of the whole kit after playing for about an hour.

Unique tactile craft
This particular art kit is rather unique in that it comes with reusable whack, sticks, and interesting little pictures that can be combined with the wax sticks for a fun craft. The pictures include things like butterflies, ice cream treats, and mermaids and they can be combined with the waxy sticks for a complete image that can then be placed on a window and made to look like stained glass art. The one thing to know about this activity is that it says it’s “mess-free”, but in reality, the waxy sticks are sticky, and they leave a residue on the window so once the project is done, the windows need to be cleaned probably with the substance that can remove wax or maybe melt the wax off. Otherwise, these are fun and engaging little projects (just not exactly mess-free).

Kids activity
Could have slightly better design instructionsKids didn’t really have anything to follow alongEspecially those trying to learn hand control- pictures of hands twisting or “making” would be helpfulMake sure you put a cloth or something down this does get messy and leave residue on other things
Rica MacD –
My 4 yo loves it! Some can be tricky which is really nice. Wax strings leave a residue on window but that’s easily wiped away. They stick well!

This craft toy arrives in a brightly coloured box, about the size of a DVD if you can remember what they were like. The box does have the UKCA and CE markings printed on it and also an age related choking hazard warning on the front. The suggested age range on the box is 5-12. There is quite a lot of space in the box, I was surprised at that. The contents are an instruction sheet which is well written and attractive, a zip bag containing a number of thick card “picture starters”, a zip bag containing 2 sheets of the waxy sticks and a foam pad. The picture starters are printed very nicely and are attractive to children in a cartoony-type way. All you do is put a starter on the foam pad, bend a wax stick into shape and press it onto the starter to decorate it. It’s a nice, gentle, safe pastime for younger children and will help with colour recognition and motor skills but it’s not something that can be played with again and again. I think its more suited to the younger age ranges of, say 4-8. Our 10 and 12 year olds think it’s too babyish for them. It’s currently £12.99 which is normal for a Skillmatics toy, they are a well known brand who make good toys. I’d buy it again as a gift.

Not worth the money. I wad thinking its something else. The waxy strings don’t actualy stick on anything
Emz_rogue –
These probably wouldn’t be entertaining right up to the age the listing mentions, but is about right for my 7 year old. It’s a pretty simple activity and you don’t get lots, so I imagine an older child would get through it very easily and quickly. It’s a good stocking filler or smaller present though and they seem to stay stuck quite well once they’re up. We have put them on an inside window though (playroom to dining room) as weren’t sure how well wax would last in this sun!the wax is easy enough to mould and using the foam sheet doesn’t stick to it when you’re creating the pictures and the colours are really nice.

This review is for “Skillmatics Waxy Window Art – 100 Bendable Waxy Sticks for Mess-Free DIY Fun, Reusable 100% Organic Beeswax Craft Kit, Travel Friendly, Creative Gifts.”This is a lovely, bright craft kit that lets children product little artworks with very little mess. It is compact and great to bring along when travelling. My seven year old enjoyed creating with it, and it is nice to be able to do something different from regular drawing or colouring in. His favourite was the bunch of flowers, which inspired alot of creativity. The price at the time of review was around £13, normally £15. The price is partly for the brand, which is a well-known and trusted brand – but to get these crafts at around £1 per picture is not bad value.
