BEEF RECIPE: A clean and simple moisture rich recipe, featuring world-class New Zealand grass-fed and free-range beef. Serve as a topper or complete meal. Your dog or puppy is sure to enjoy each and every bite. FAQs Can ZIWI Peak be fed as a topper or mixed with another food? There’s no wrong way to feed ZIWI, it works great as a complete meal or as a topper for a nutritional boost on your existing food. Why is there sometimes variability in my ZIWI Peak food? ZIWI Peak uses natural ingredients, handcrafted in small batches, featuring high inclusions of meat and organs and excludes artificial fillers, dyes and preservatives. This, in combination other natural factors such as age and seasonality of the ingredients we use, often results in variability of shape, size, color, texture and odor. This variation is perfectly normal and is an indicator as to how natural the food really is! How do I transition my dog to Ziwi? ZIWI Peak is nutrient dense. A little goes a long way, don’t be surprised if you feed less! Introduce a new recipe slowly over 6-8 days, gradually increasing the amount of the new recipe while decreasing the old, until you are fully transitioned. Please refer to our transition guide on the packaging. Can I rotate my dog through different ZIWI recipes? We recommend a gradual transition between proteins, to minimize the potential for digestive upset. Please refer to our transition guide on the packaging.

Satisfies my picky pomsky
This is just the kind of food my bougie dog needed. I have a pomsky that has always been super snobby, I mean, picky, about her food. I saw this food in a local store, and after reading the reviews here on Amazon, I ordered a bag. From the smell alone, she was already excited to get her dinner. She gobbled it up so quick. Because the price point is a little high, we always do a half scoop of this food, then another half scoop of some other kibble on top of it. More often than not, my pup will sort out the other kibble and only eat this food. She is now consistently eating her breakfast and dinner every day, rather than choosing to skip meals because she isn’t into the food. I like that the food is mostly meat and not full of fillers. And the fact that my dog loves it so much tells me it’s a high-quality, tasty food. I’ve been a repeat buyer of this brand, and all the flavors are a hit with my picky eater.

ZIWI Peak Air-Dried Dog Food
ZIWI Peak is one of those foods you try once and immediately understand why people rave about it. The quality is obvious the moment you open the bag—real meat aroma, clean ingredients, and none of the filler you find in typical kibble.🥩 High‑Quality IngredientsThis is basically a meat‑based diet in a convenient air‑dried form. No cheap grains, no mystery ingredients, just nutrient‑dense beef and organ meats. It feels like feeding raw without the mess or hassle.🐶 Dog Appeal: Off the ChartsMy dog didn’t hesitate for a second. The pieces are soft enough to chew, smell like actual food, and can be used as meals or high‑value treats. If you have a picky eater, this is the kind of food that gets their attention.

Expensive, but well worth it and Ziwi Peak’s Customer Service is among the best out there.
I saw Ziwi Peak a few years ago at a local Pet Store, but avoided buying it due to the cost at the time which was much lower than it is now, in retrospect I didn’t buy it because I wasn’t really educated on the proper diet for Dogs, which is a common problem in this day and age, but with the Internet people are becoming more educated.Initially when my Dog was a puppy and into a few years of age, we stuck with Purina Puppy Chow and then tried several Pet Store brands some not so good and what’s advertised on TV, big brand names and some obscure brands sold only online, all of which contained grains, carbs and veggies among a mix of meat proteins and God knows what else.A number of years ago after my Dog had some health issues for bladder infections, the Vet prescribed a food just for that reason, very expensive and after further education I saw the #1 ingredient was Corn, after feeding my Dog this for a month or so, I stopped. I took it upon myself to feed higher quality pet foods and the issue went away and never returned. I also got a new Vet. Dogs are carnivores based on their non-domesticated ancestors, sure they can eat some of it, but having it as their main diet or a high %, is not what nature intended for them.Over the years since, I tried several higher quality brands in an effort to curb some paw licking and chewing that a became frequent, Vet said there was a yeast infection and mentioned it could be food. I went to Grain Free, I tried many different brands, Wellness, Taste of the Wild, Nutrisca, Orijen, Acana and Fromm to name a few. I actually lost count of all the foods I tried, I removed Chicken from the diet thinking there was a Chicken Allergy, helped a little but paw licking and nibbling continued. Also my Dog had a yeast issues as I could still smell it very faintly. There were times when the food totally was a loss of interest and would not be finished at dinner time. I then switched to a grain free all fish diet, for a while, tried a couple other brands, Zignature being the last, but I had to stop due to the % Sodium.I then received word from the Vet that my Dog has early stages of congestive heart failure, which requires daily meds now to manage. I also, on my own, began to research and also blamed myself for the diet I was feeding. I read that diets low in Taurine and also diets that are Lamb & Rice based can cause deficiencies in Taurine. Along with this, it’s imperative that dog’s with CHF be given a low sodium diet, most dog foods on the market are loaded with crap on top of Salt, like why is it needed? Some sodium perhaps, but high % of it or just plain old “Salt” listed in the ingredients, is too much.So after blaming myself for the condition my Dog had, I went on a search to find a low sodium food that met my requirements, I tried a few, but most were still too high in Sodium % or did not even list it, after reaching out to them via e-mail I found out most were too high. I then found Ziwi Peak, and their website is very clear, shows the sodium and also added Taurine benefit which my Dog needs, I ordered a small bag and fed it mixed in for a week, noticed how my Dog devoured it and left the old kibble for last or didn’t even want to finish it. This led to another bag and another, eventually I had switched over to Ziwi Peak 100%.It’s been over a month now, my Dog looks forward to feeding time, devours the food and leaves nothing behind. Stool volume is way down, no more fillers or things that are only detrimental, just like nature intended. Also noticed a huge improvement in the breath department, along with no issues with poop time or loose stools.Skin is improving, nibbling and paw chewing is declining. All the noted benefits of the food is coming into fruition and I hope it continues. My Dog loves Ziwi Peak and also the Ziwi Peak treats. The cost is high, but when you weigh out the positives and vet visits you may avoid due to feeding it along with having a happy healthy Dog, it’s a small price to pay. Also as noted by Ziwi Peak, the portion sizes are smaller than what’s typical of foods containing loads of fillers and carbs, and believe it or not the recommended daily feeding size quite adequately satisfies my Dog’s hunger and also the included measuring cup in each bag is a nice touch.I also have to commend Ziwi Peak’s Customer Service, I received one bag that had a different smell than what I was use to, was concerned though there was nothing probably wrong with it, appears a tear or wasn’t properly sealed. After contacting Ziwi Peak via e-mail, I got a response in a less than 1 hour from the Co-Founder of the company, who offered to send a replacement bag, when it arrived not only did they replace the bag, but they also included a free bag of Ziwi Peak Venison Treats which made my Dog very happy. So I would rate their Customer Service #1, which matches the quality of the food as well.

hard pieces
Very natural product, but my dogs won’t eat it because the pieces are too hard. I even tried wetting it.

Full of Nutrients and My Small Canines Love It!
My two small poodle mixes love this food. You can actually smell the green lip mussels in this which are highly beneficial. They have one meal of this per day and their other meal is one I cook…beef, carrots, green peas, bone meal. This food is crunchy and full of nutrients. I highly recommend it.

Great quality food but way too expensive. What I do with these is use them as treats instead. These make for cheaper treats than most but are well balance and very healthy for your dog. My very very picky dog likes them and I feel better about giving him extra treats when this is technically food.

My little Charlie goes crazy for Ziwi Peak. He’d sell his soul for this. He absolutely loves it.

Our jack russel is a very picky eater who only likes things that could be described as “premium”. This certainly ticks that box. He also has a sensitive stomach and this has never, in the six or so years we have been feeding this to him, caused his stomach to become upset. The price may be high, but the quality absolutely matches it. I do not think there is a product marketed as dog food closer to beef jerky than this. It actually smells pretty good when I open up the bag to be fair. I haven’t tried, but in a starvation situation I wouldn’t be scared to. This product is rare in a sense because you can always find it wherever you go. The formula is the same everywhere you go in the world, as we have gotten the same product in Germany, Japan, and the US as well.
